Autumn brings plenty to see and do across Leicester, whether you're wrapping up for a day in the park, looking for something indoors when the weather turns, or heading into the city for one of Leicester's big seasonal events.
From museums to Halloween fun, fireworks and Diwali, there are plenty of reasons to get out together this Autumn.
Many of these destinations are easy to reach by bus and within the Leicester Flexi area. Pick somewhere to go, check your journey and make a day of it.

It’s spooky season at the National Space centre from the 17th October - 1st November take the day to check out some seasonal crafts, magical shows and space adventures. Get there on the 54.
Get creative this Halloween with a hands-on activity for children and grown-ups. Make your own spooky fused-glass decoration to take home. Choose from a skull, pumpkin or ghost, with all materials supplied. The workshop is suitable for ages 5+ on 18th October 2026, tickets are £15 per person. Get there on the Hop!
Based at Leicester Leys Leisure Centre, Climb Leicester – The Tower offers roped climbing and bouldering, with routes for different abilities. It runs children's lessons and parent-and-child courses, while beginners can also book taster or instructor-led sessions. Get there on the 25/26, 40N, 40S, 74.
Gardens, play and plenty of room to explore. Evington Park is a good option when you want an easy outdoor afternoon at the park or playing fields. Get there on the 22, 22A or 22E.
Leicester's Diwali festivities take place 8th November 2026 at Cossington Recreation Ground. Visitors can expect the area to come alive with celebrations including Rangoli art, the illuminated big wheel, shops and food along Belgrave Road. Find out more.
