Planned Service Disruptions
Details of planned service disruptions and diversions in the network can be found here.
Closure: Evington Drive/Mayflower Road/Ethel Road
Date: 13th July to 10th August
The 22 (City Centre to Evington) will divert via Evington Lane and Wakerley Road.
Closure: St Saviours Road between Gedding Road and Suffolk Street
Date: 21st to 25th July
The 16 (City Centre to Highfields) will divert via Broad Avenue and Gwendolen Road inbound only.
Closure: Aikman Avenue/New Parks Way junction (inbound only)
Date: 26th to 27th July
The 14/A (City Centre to New Parks) will divert via Glenfield Road and Aikman Avenue.
Closure: London Road from Evington Road to Mayfield Roundabout
Date: 26th to 31st July
The HH (Hospital Hopper), X3/31 (Leicester to Market Harborough) and X7 (Leicester to Market Harborough) will divert via Evington Road and Beckingham Road in both directions. The 31/31A (City Centre to Oadby) and 44/A (Leicester to South Wigston) will Victoria Park Road, Welford Road and University Road.
Event: Caribbean Carnival
Date: 2nd August from 1pm to 4pm
Phase 1: The carnival will depart form Maidstone Road in Highfields at 1pm and continue along Swain Street and St Georges Way (via the railway bridge) into Charles Street.
During this time, service 17 will be suspended for around 30 mins.
Service 16 will divert via Humberstone Road, Nedham Street and Melbourne Road in both directions.
Phase 2: When the parade reaches Charles Street it will be closed as far as (and including) the junction with Humberstone Gate East.
All services that would normally use Charles Street will divert via Belgrave Road, Savoy Street or Abbey Street.
Services 22/22A will operate from a temporary stop outside Poundstretcher
Service 17 will depart from the Haymarket Bus Station stand HX and exiting/arriving via Belgrave Gate.
Phase 3: London Road will close later, approx. 1430-1500hrs.
Services affected will need to use Victoria Park Road/Welford Road/Inner Ring Road/Churchgate both ways until 16:00.
The HOP service will be suspended between 1300 and 1600hrs approx.
Closure: The Portwey from Hastings Road to Wycombe Road
Date: 2nd to 4th August
The 58/A (City Centre to Oadby)will divert via Overton Road, Uppingham Road and The Portwey.
Closure: The Portwey from Uppingham Road to Hastings Road
Date: 5th to 7th August
The 58/A (City Centre to Oadby)will divert via Uppingham Road, Overton Road and Hastings Road
Closure: Wicklow Drive (Godwood Road to Ambassador Road)
Date: 8th to 12th August
The 15 (City Centre to Goodwood) will divert via Ambassador Road, Uppingham Road and right onto Goodwood Road.
Closure: King Richards Road (Glenfield Road to Kate Street)
Date: 13th to 15th August Inbound Closure from 7.30pm each night.
The 13 (City Centre to Glenfield), 148 (Leicester to Coventry), 153 (Leicester to Market Bosworth), 158 (Leicester to Nuneaton) and ND (Leicester to New Lubbesthorpe) will divert via Fosse Road Central, Hinckley Road and Narborough Road North.
Closure: Ravensbridge Drive
Date: 8pm on 22nd August to 5am on the 23rd August
The 74 (City Centre to Anstey) will divert via Blackbird Road and Abbey Lane.
