Interchanges
We currently have six bus interchanges across Leicester
Haymarket Bus Station
St Margaret’s Bus Station
Enderby Park and Ride
Meynell’s Gorse Park and Ride
Birstall Park and Ride
Beaumont Leys Bus Interchange
All of these now have modern facilities including covered seated waiting areas, real time bus information and toilets. This includes the brand new £13.5m coach and bus station at St Margaret’s, which is the first carbon neutral bus station in the UK (delivered in June 2022). Further details can be found here.
Over the next 3 years we plan to do a feasibility study to look at the potential for further park and ride sites to the east of the City.

Bus stops
The humble bus stop is the start of everyone’s journey. It needs to be a comfortable, clean place to wait with good up-to-date travel information.
Over the past 3 years we’ve installed:
Over 500 new illuminated shelters with seating at all high-use bus stops. 30 are green roofed and bee-friendly.
Bus stop ‘totems’ at over 1000 Mainline stops, over 750 of which have real time information displays and text-to-speech facility for those with visual impairments.
Over the next year we will put in integrated timetables and maps at all totems
Over the next 3 years we plan to install a further 250 real time totems across the Leicester Buses network
